Together We’re Building a Universe of Support
SHINE is a national campaign with West Virginia roots – our objective is to lift up survivors of childhood sexual abuse and raise awareness and funds for the Child Advocacy Center movement.
In the last year, 4,879 West Virginia children walked through the doors of a child advocacy center (CAC) following a disclosure of sexual or physical abuse. But we know the number of children who are sexually abused is actually ten times higher. Currently, WVCAN officially serves 47 counties, and we have big, bold plans to expand services to all 55 counties in the coming years.
