CAC Family Advocate/Interviewer ⎯ Victoria's House CAC

This Victoria’s House Child Advocacy Center position has two primary goals:

1. To provide initial and ongoing support and advocacy services to child victims and non-offending family members served at the CAC.

2. To perform specialized forensic interviewing with child victims served at the CAC and collaborate with investigative teams involved in the case.

ABC Program Social Worker ⎯ Mountain CAP CAC

Mountain CAP of WV, Inc., a CDC, Child Advocacy Center’s ABC Program has one licensed social work position in Lewis County. This is a full-time, benefitted position that will work with school-aged children in in the home and in the classroom. Family Advocate ⎯ CAMC Women & Children’s Hospital CAC

FAMILY ADVOCATE — CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER — WOMEN & CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL (JOB ID: 65516)

The Family Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy, support, crisis services and interventions to all CAC clients who are child victims of abuse, neglect, violence or a crime and their non-offending family members. The Family Advocate is responsible for facilitating case management and case tracking services for children and families whose cases are evaluated at CAC and ensuring that child victims have access to available assistance programs. The Family Advocate ensures that other agency services are made available to and accessed by our child clients and their families by making referrals for, scheduling and coordinating mental health and other necessary services. The Family Advocate may interface with Kanawha County’s Multidisciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT) and all other investigative, court and child protection professionals who interact with the agency. The Family Advocate will also serve as a forensic interviewer as needed and is required to testify in court when subpoenaed. The Family Advocate may act as the agency’s liaison with other community partners when deemed necessary by the Director. The Advocate will conduct presentations and other community outreach projects as assigned by the Director.

Education

Community Education Coordinator ⎯ Harmony House Children's Advocacy Center

Job Description

  • Coordinates, schedules, and presents community education/prevention to all aspects of Harmony House service area and surrounding communities.
  • Distributes, gathers, and compiles community education statistics and evaluations.
  • Develops and maintains in community education binder or computer file folder appropriate presentations and accompanying handouts for community education.
  • Develops appropriate evidence-based presentations on prevention and identification of child abuse, human trafficking, neglect, dangers of social media and drug endangered children.
  • Attends appropriate victim services related trainings.
  • Provides related Harmony House victim services when needed and as appropriate training is received.
  • Assists the MDT with appropriate Harmony House activities including team intervention for child abuse cases.
  • Gathers data from community and enters it into an appropriate case tracking system to ensure no child “falls through the cracks in the system and identifies underserved populations.”
  • Assists with identifying gaps in victim services.
  • Assists with gathering resources, including information, for victims and non-offending family members.
  • Maintains contact with all external organizations necessary for quality services and referrals.
  • Maintains open communications-while respecting confidentiality-with program participants, staff, and other agencies participating in program activities.
  • Assists with community awareness to identify victims of child abuse, to prevent further victimization and to notify of existing services to victims.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate knowledge and mastery of the job responsibilities; valid driver’s license and insurance; excellent written and oral communication skills; highly organized and detail oriented; expansive knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse; excellent interpersonal skills; criminal and child abuse/neglect clearances; ability to work well in a team setting; computer literate and able to manage data bases; and demonstrated empathy and commitment to the population served.

  • Primarily funded through the United Way with a desire to fill position before the end of the current school year.
  • Position to provide services to Belmont, Marshall and Ohio Counties.
  • Immediate need at beginning of 2026-27 school year.

Parent Educator ⎯ Cornerstone Family Interventions, Inc.

Cornerstone Family Interventions has a job opening with our Parents as Teachers program serving children and families in Boone and Lincoln County. This in-home family education program is voluntary for families who are expecting or have just had a child.
DUTIES:
•Develop a trusting relationship with the families by making regular home visits
•Provide support and assist in strengthening the parent-child relationship
•Assist parents in improving their parenting skills and in setting goals
•Encourage economic self-sufficiency and education
•Help the family access health care and support from other needed social service agencies
•Share developmental information and conduct developmental screenings
•Coordinate and facilitate Parent Group and Play Group meetings
•Complete required paperwork to document the family’s progress within required time frames
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Associate Degree preferred
•Excellent communication and “people”, organizational, and computer skills
•Early childhood background
•Availability to attend required training including out of county, region, or state
•Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and automobile insurance
•Criminal and protective services background check required
COMPENSATION:
Salary range: $28,500 annually to $36,500 per year. Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include access to medical insurance with partial premium paid, life insurance, paid holidays, flexible schedule, paid time off, simple IRA, free training. $1,000 salary increase upon achieving 85% of a full case load. A minimum two-year time commitment is requested as the relationship between our parent educators and the families we serve is of utmost importance.
