Role Description

This is a contract role for a Trauma Therapist at Just For Kids Child Advocacy Center. The Trauma Therapist will provide counseling and therapy services to children who have experienced abuse, develop treatment plans, and work collaboratively with other professionals to support the child’s recovery. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, documenting case progress, and providing support to families. This is a hybrid role based in Oak Hill, WV, with the possibility of some remote work.

Mountain CAP of WV, Inc., a CDC, Child Advocacy Center’s ABC Program has one licensed social work position in Lewis County. This is a full-time, benefitted position that will work with school-aged children in in the home and in the classroom. This position requires the applicant to hold a minimum of a temporary SW license and the applicant must have experience in working with children and families. Requires clear CIB, APS/CPS, sex offender registry background checks, and clean driving record. Provide resume, letter of interest, and four professional references. The Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center is looking for a caring and committed Therapist to provide trauma-focused therapy to children and families in Wetzel and Tyler Counties. The Therapist provides trauma-focused crisis counseling and therapeutic services at the Lighthouse CAC facility extension to agency clients in need of such services.  The Therapist may provide crisis counseling, therapeutic services, and conduct group counseling sessions. The Therapist advocates for the client’s mental health needs when necessary and works in conjunction with all Lighthouse CAC staff, Wetzel & Tyler County’s Multidisciplinary Investigative Teams (MDIT), Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), and other investigative, court and child protection professionals to ensure a victim-first approach in all joint cases. Mountain CAP of WV, Inc., a CDC, Child Advocacy Center is hiring a Contractual Child Therapist. Preferred licensure: LICSW, LPC, Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Supervised Psychologist; Other licensure considered: LSW, LCSW, LGSW, Provisionally Licensed Counselor with possible supervision provided by the CAC (based on availability and funding). Preferred applicant must have experience in providing therapy services to children, with training and experience in trauma-focused therapy. Open to those completing internships or licensure requirements. Salary based on experience, licensure level, and funding availability.
